Shrotha - A women empowerment program
Shrotha – an interested person with enhanced listening skills.
Anyone can experience emotional distress, even if they do not meet the criteria of a psychological disorder. More so, women often do not get regard for their emotional upheavals and anxiety issues.
Emotional distress can become overwhelming and affect daily functioning. The triggers of distress are not always obvious. Talking to family members, friends, or a counselor can help identify these triggers and develop alternate ways of coping.
Active listening with genuine empathy is the foundation for any successful conversation. This helps earn the trust of the speaker and helps the counselor understand situations better. It validates the speaker and makes them want to speak longer. It reflects the counselor’s patience and willingness to collaborate to develop solutions.
The goal is simply for the other person to be heard and perhaps solve their problems.
Shrotha, thus enables women to speak out, and we listen actively.
